 I serve as the CEO, Electronic Return Originator (ERO), and Senior Tax Preparer for Moore Tax & Financial Consulting. I oversee the company’s operations, provide leadership and support to our tax preparation team, serve as the primary point of contact for preparers, and handle complex tax preparation and client matters. 

Learn the rules, not just the software. Understanding why a return is prepared a certain way is just as important as knowing how to enter the information.
Accuracy comes before speed. Take your time, review your work, and never guess. If you’re unsure, ask questions and seek guidance.
Keep learning. Tax laws change every year, so continuing education and staying informed are essential to becoming a successful preparer.
Protect your clients and your reputation. Treat every client’s information with confidentiality, honesty, and professionalism. Your work and your reputation go hand in hand.

Be coachable and willing to grow. You don’t have to know everything when you start. What matters is being willing to learn, accept feedback, and become better with every return.

I bring 11 years of experience in the tax preparation and financial services industry, with extensive hands-on experience preparing tax returns, working with clients, and navigating the ever-changing tax landscape. In addition to my professional experience, I have an educational background in finance, holding both a degree and a certificate in the field.

My combination of professional experience and formal education allows me to bring both practical, real-world knowledge and a strong financial foundation to my role. I am passionate about helping tax preparers develop their skills, build confidence, and provide knowledgeable, accurate, and professional service to their clients.

My biggest piece of advice is to understand the opportunity in front of you. Tax preparation can be whatever you decide to make it. For some, it may be a seasonal side gig that brings in extra income. For others, it can grow into a full-time career, a thriving business, and something that genuinely changes their life. I encourage you to take advantage of every opportunity to learn, network, and build relationships. This industry can introduce you to business owners, entrepreneurs, financial professionals, and other tax professionals who can open doors you never expected. The more you invest in yourself, the more opportunities you create.

Don’t be afraid to dream bigger than simply preparing tax returns. Learn the business side, build your client base, develop your skills, and think about how you can eventually scale what you’re doing. There is real potential to create multiple streams of income and build something of your own. Most importantly, have fun with it! We get the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and help them navigate an important part of their finances. There is something incredibly rewarding about knowing the work you do can make a real difference for someone and their family. I started in this industry because I saw an opportunity, but 11 years later, it has become so much more than that for me. My hope is that you will come into this business with an open mind, put in the work, take advantage of the opportunities available to you, and discover just how far this industry can take you.
